At the CES 2023 Consumer Electronics Show opening January 5 in Las Vegas, Volkswagen will unveil a new electric vehicle for series production, the ID.7 mid-size sedan. The car will be shown in a disguised form, with a body tightly pasted over with a film.
Although the coating with a colorful advertising print does not allow you to see the exterior in detail, you can still get a general idea of \u200b\u200bit - the ID.7 has a squat, streamlined shape typical of “electric sedans” with a short nose and a sloping roofline smoothly turning into the trunk. The ID.7's undulating sidewalls, tapered headlights and taillights echo the ID.Aero sedan introduced in June, but it's tailor-made for the Chinese market, and the ID.7 is a global product.
The ID.7 is built on the Volkswagen MEB modular pure electric platform. The overall length of the sedan is 4.9 m, the wheelbase is 2.95 m, that is, the ID.7 is noticeably larger than the European sedan Passat B8 (2014-2022), which had a length of 4.77 m and a wheelbase of 2.79 m .
Inside, there is a 15-inch tablet-type media screen and an augmented reality head-up display.
The ID.7 will be produced in rear or all-wheel drive versions. In the first case, there is one electric motor (on the rear axle), power - 170 hp. In the 4x4 version, two electric motors will be used (one per axle), with a total output of 300 hp. The capacity of the traction battery has not yet been disclosed, however, it is reported that the VW ID.7 will be able to drive 600-700 km on one full charge.
A full presentation of the novelty will take place in the summer of 2023.
