Volkswagen has unveiled an updated version of the ID.3 electric hatchback, which has been producing since 2019. Models slightly retouched the exterior and changed the interior.
What has changed outside? The design of the front has become more expressive: the hood panel is now voluminous, and the bumper plastic is finely crafted. In the rear lights, the segments entering the tailgate have become functional (before they were ordinary reflectors). The black glossy segment under the windshield is gone from the hood. It is claimed that the new front part is better developed in terms of streamlining - the drag coefficient Cx has dropped from 0.27 to 0.263. Thus, the energy efficiency of the electric hatchback should be higher.
The quality of finishing materials has been improved in the cabin. In the door handrails in the places of capture, foamed plastic is used, which is pleasant to the touch. The front panel and steering wheel rim in all trim levels are covered with artificial leather. Already in the standard, the car began to be equipped with an auto-dimming interior mirror, as well as improved front seats with fabric upholstery. The 12-inch display of the media system also became the basic equipment.
The modernization did not touch the technical side of ID.3. The machine is equipped with an electric motor on the rear axle and, accordingly, the rear drive wheels. Power - 150 kW (204 hp), the engine is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 58 or 77 kW * h, the range on one full charge is up to 546 km. The possibility of recharging from a fast station with a capacity of up to 170 kW is provided.
Sales of the restyled ID.3 will start in the summer of 2023.
