Volkswagen

The Indian company Mahindra & Mahindra and the German concern Volkswagen on August 15 signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of electric vehicles. The document assumes that the Germans will supply Mahindra with MEB platform components, they are used for the Mahindra INGLO electric vehicle chassis.

On the day of the agreement, Mahindra showed off five full-size running mockups, shedding light on what style its upcoming INGLO-based products will get. All these machines are endowed with a futuristic look, which combines swift forms and sharp edges.

The modular design of the "trolley" allows you to adapt it without great expense to cars of different types and classes. In INGLO, all suspensions are independent: front - MacPherson type, rear - multi-link. The installation of one or two electric motors is provided, the traction battery is placed under the floor, the floor itself is made absolutely flat, which will maximize the space in the car. Drive - rear or full.

Mahindra plans to produce electric vehicles under two new sub-brands - XUV.e and BE. The first will be larger in size and will be positioned higher.

Of the five layouts, two are the forerunners of XUV.e electric vehicles.

The XUV.e8 concept car is a prototype of the future mid-size crossover for family consumers, it has a three-row seven-seat interior layout. The overall length, width and height are 4740, 1900 and 1760 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2762 mm. The capacity of the traction battery is 80 kWh, the power of the power plant is 230-350 hp. The production model will be released in December 2024.

XUV.e9 has a five-seat interior and a body with a sloping roof line, the car belongs to the fashionable category of coupe-crossovers. The overall length, width and height are 4790, 1905 and 1690 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2775 mm. XUV.e9 will go on sale in 2025.

The BE line will include compact youth models.

Thus, the BE.05 is a sporty five-door crossover with a hatchback body and complex plastic exterior solutions. The length, width and height of this car are 4370, 1900 and 1635 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2775 mm.

BE.07 is a prototype of a slightly larger model with a station wagon body (dimensions - 4565, 1900 and 1660 mm, wheelbase - 2775 mm).

The BE.09 will be the crowning achievement of the BE range, a four-seat crossover coupe measuring around 4.5 meters in length.

The design of all presented Mahindra electric vehicles was developed with the participation of the Italian Pininfarina, which has been part of this Indian automaker since 2015.
