In the gamut of the compact electric crossover Volkswagen ID4, a sports modification appeared, which is indicated by the letter combination GTX.
The ID4 GTX is equipped with two electric motors - one per axle - and has all-wheel drive. The total output is 220 kW (295 hp), which is 70 kW (94 hp) more than the standard version of the model. As a result, the family car acquired dynamics at the level of good sports cars - acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.2 seconds. The usual version of the same exercise is given in 8.5 seconds. The top speed limiter bar for the sporty ID4 has been increased from 160 to 180 km/h.
The all-wheel drive system works in automatic mode. By default, the ID4 GTX is rear-wheel drive, with the front engine kicking in when the driver presses hard on the gas pedal.
GTX is equipped with the most capacious battery of the ID4 range - it is a 24-cell, 77 kWh. The power reserve on one energy reserve is 480 km.
Outside, this option can be distinguished from the usual modification by a suspension lowered by 15 mm, an original sports body kit and 20-inch low-profile wheels.
In Europe, the car will go on sale in the summer of 2021 at a price of 50,000 euros.
