A prototype of a promising Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup truck was filmed stuck in the mud of a field in Texas. It is alleged that the car did not cope with minor off-road conditions. The video of the incident went viral on social media.
InsideEVs writes that the car is similar to the one that Tesla CEO Elon Musk drove a few days ago at the opening ceremony of a new battery plant in Texas. She has a feature - a plastic casing of the cargo compartment.
Tesla employees pulled the pickup out of the mud for hours on end, as the heavy vehicle was firmly bogged down in rain-soaked mud.
Thus, the expectations of the public that the Cybertruck will have excellent off-road capabilities are called into question. However, the reason may be in all-season tires that are not designed for this kind of viscous coating.
Cybertruck was introduced in 2019, it will be available in three versions - with one electric motor and rear-wheel drive, with two electric motors and all-wheel drive, or with three electric motors and all-wheel drive. From standstill to 60 mph (96 km/h) pickup in the top version accelerates in just 2.9 seconds. The power reserve varies from 400 to 800 km, depending on the modification. The first commercial samples of the Cybertruck will be released before the end of August 2023.
