Toyota Motor and Subaru have released anniversary editions of the GR 86 and BRZ rear-wheel drive sports coupes to mark the 10th anniversary of the first-generation models. Recall that these cars are built on a common platform and have almost the same body.
Special versions are designated 10th Anniversary Limited and are intended for the domestic Japanese market.
The GR86 10th Anniversary Limited is made on the basis of the RZ package, differing from it in the original body color in bright Flame Orange metallic. The rear window has a 10th Anniversary Limited decal. The interior is upholstered with orange accents and embroideries with the name of the special edition. On the rear window there is a decal in the branded 10th Anniversary graphics.
The BRZ 10th Anniversary Limited has a slightly more extensive scope of changes. The car has 18-inch matte black painted alloy wheels and a black badge on the trunk lid. The body of the car is covered in WR Blue Pearl metallic blue enamel, the interior is with blue accents and embroideries on the door cards. A sticker with the name of the special version is applied to the rear window.
Both cars will be assembled in a limited edition in anniversary configuration, prices for the GR86 10th Anniversary Limited are 3,469,000 yen for the 6-speed manual option or 3,632,000 yen for the 6-speed automatic version. BRZ 10th Anniversary Limited - 3,388,000 yen for a car with a manual transmission and 3,553,000 yen for an automatic transmission.
The second-generation Toyota GR 86 / Subaru BRZ will be released from the end of 2020, these cars are built on the upgraded coupe chassis of previous generations. The cars are equipped with a 2.4-liter gasoline boxer engine with a capacity of 228 hp, the drive is only rear.
