The new generation Subaru Crosstrek received a heavy off-road version - it bears the prefix Wilderness in the name and is intended for the US market.
Differences from the standard version:
ground clearance increased by 15 mm - up to 236 mm,
used original suspension shock absorbers,
used all-terrain tires R17 with increased grip,
the variator has been reconfigured for more efficient driving on slippery surfaces at low speeds (the gear ratio of the main pair has been reduced from 4.11 to 3.77),
the original bumpers and a protective body kit made of black embossed plastic were mounted.
The design also used a new oil cooler, which almost doubled the maximum weight of the towed trailer - up to 1588 kg.
The power plant is taken from the top modification of the Subaru Crosstrek - this is a 2.5-liter boxer gasoline engine with a capacity of 182 hp. and a torque of 239 Nm, aggregated with a continuously variable variator and all-wheel drive.
Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness starts at $33,290
