The new Subaru Impreza debuted as a hatchback

Subaru

At the international auto show in Los Angeles on November 17, the world premiere of the new (sixth) generation Subaru Impreza took place.

So far, only the base car of the family has been shown - a five-door hatchback. Will there be a sedan - do not say.

The new Impreza hatchback basically repeats the third-generation Crosstrek crossover introduced in September. The two models have a unified body and units, but the Impreza does not have an increased clearance and body kit made of unpainted plastic, in addition, it is equipped with its own bumpers.

The overall length of the hatchback is 4475 mm, the wheelbase is 2670 mm, the supporting structure is additionally reinforced relative to its predecessor by 10%.

In the basic configuration, the car has a 2.0-liter petrol boxer engine with 152 hp. The RS variant will rise a step higher - with a 2.5-liter boxer with a return of 182 hp. Both units are combined with a variator with a wired manual mode (imitation of eight gears). The drive is permanent full, there is a function of thrust vector control with the help of brakes. There will be no MCP in the new generation.

Inside, there is a 7-inch digital instrument panel and a media system screen of the same size. For an extra charge, an 11.6-inch multimedia display will be offered.

The basic equipment of the novelty includes the EyeSight semi-autopilot, which recognizes difficult obstacles (pedestrians and cyclists) even when turning right at intersections, including at dusk.

Sales of the sixth generation Subaru Impreza will start in 2024.

Recall that the model of the outgoing, fifth generation (GK / GT) has been produced since 2016. It is made in the form of a sedan and a hatchback.
