Subaru is set to unveil its first electric car in October 2021. The name of the debut "electric train" is already known - Evoltis. Since the development of an electric platform is not cheap, the company will not be doing this alone.
It is curious that the name Evoltis was patented a couple of years ago. Then it was assumed that this would be the name of the new rechargeable hybrid. However, in 2018, the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid came out, and Evoltis was never heard from again.
A new electric platform is being developed jointly with Toyota: Japanese companies announced this in June 2019. It is noteworthy that Toyota's hybrid developments are also used in the Crosstrek Hybrid, so the manufacturers already have experience of cooperation in the field of innovative technology.
According to rumors, the Subaru Evoltis will not be a modest test of the pen: the electric car will receive a motor with up to 290 hp. and a power reserve of up to 500 km. It will not do without all-wheel drive already “in the base”.
Visually, the novelty should be designed in the style of the unnamed Subaru concept, presented in January 2020.
