Subaru introduced a special version of the Subaru Forester - X-Edition. It is distinguished by preparation for sorties into the mud, although there are no special improvements in terms of off-road potential.
The new modification brings the Forester back to its roots. This is a real "Forester", which is literally not afraid to get dirty: a special water-repellent fabric is used as the upholstery of the seats. The trunk floor is covered with a special rubber coating that can be washed with water straight from the hose.
A powerful LED lamp appeared in the trunk lid: with the fifth door open, it illuminates both the cargo compartment itself and the area around.
Externally, the X-Edition stands out with 18-inch wheels painted in metallic gray. The edging of the front grille and fog lamps received a slight dimming.
Technically, the novelty does not differ from the standard Forester. The X-Edition version will be offered only with a 2.5-liter 185-horsepower engine, CVT and all-wheel drive. Not without a fresh version of the Subaru EyeSight system, which is included in the list of basic equipment. It not only gives the driver hints about the presence of cars in the blind spot, but also automatically brakes when an obstacle is detected.
The Forester X-Edition will go on sale in Japan on January 23, 2020. The car is valued at 3,179,000 yen.
