Porsche is thinking about a rival Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4

Porsche is thinking about a new and more affordable electric car that will sit one step below the four-door Taycan coupe in the model lineup. The car may be called Cajun, writes Motor1.

It is alleged that this is a sedan, it will be built on an advanced PPE modular electric platform, it differs from the existing MEB “trolley” by using a traction vector distribution system, which significantly improves the stability of the car during sharp accelerations and braking, as well as supporting powerful charging stations (up to 350 kW).

Edition Autocar published a drawing of the alleged appearance of a promising electric car. It has a fastback body (that is, a sedan with a short trunk), and its design echoes the current Taycan electric car.

As of now, Porsche management has still not given final approval to the project, but a positive decision is expected to be made soon. If this happens, the new car will compete with Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4 costing around 50,000 euros.

Production of the Porsche Cajun will begin at the Leipzig plant in 2025.
