Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe have undergone major modernization

Porsche

The mid-size crossover Porsche Cayenne of the current (third) generation has been produced since 2017. So that interest in the family does not fade away, the German company carried out its comprehensive modernization. At the same time, the sports Cayenne Coupe was also updated, although it began to be produced later - in 2019. The models received a total amount of innovations, because they differ only in the rear part of the body (the coupe has a sloping one).

The legendary crossover has completely changed plumage. The upper edge of the wings has become higher, more pronounced edges have appeared on the hood, and the bumper is now slightly angular. The block headlights have been enlarged in area, they have become matrix LED as standard - the light beam of each of the LED elements in them automatically adjusts to current traffic conditions. In this way, the most efficient light beam is achieved.

In the standard, each headlight consists of 32 thousand pixels, but for a surcharge they offer even cooler blocks with twice the number of pixels. The optional Matrix HD headlights have a construction site illumination function that maximizes the beam's brightness.

With the upgrade, the standard wheel size has been increased from 19 to 20 inches. In expensive versions, the car has 22-inch wheels.

Both models also changed the tailgate. In the standard Cayenne, the license plate area was moved to the bumper (the Coupe had it there).

In the cabin, the main thing is a 12.6-inch digital curved instrument panel display. Its graphics can be adjusted in a wide range, up to imitation of the classic mode with five round instruments.

The display size of the media system remained the same - 12.3 inches. For a surcharge, you can order an individual screen for the front passenger - 10.9 inches. Climate control is now carried out through touch buttons with feedback technology.

The steering wheel received buttons for switching driving modes.

Reconfigured crossover chassis. Shock absorbers in the basic configuration have a two-valve technology (separate stages of rebound and compression). Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) damper control technology is also standard. The suspension automatically adjusts to the driving modes: when slow - soft, when fast - hard. An adaptive air suspension remained as an option.

In his native Germany, the updated crossover will be offered in the following modifications:

V6 3.0 petrol turbo engine, power and torque - 353 hp and 500 Nm, respectively (previously it was 340 hp and 450 Nm);
plug-in hybrid e-Hybrid with 304 hp petrol V6 and an electric motor with a return of 177 hp. Total characteristics - 470 hp and 650 Nm (it was 462 hp and 700 Nm). Battery capacity increased from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh, range on pure electric traction increased from 48 to 90 km;
gasoline biturbo V8 4.0, 474 hp and 600 Nm.
The V8 is installed on the Cayenne S version, this unit replaced the 2.9-liter V6 biturbo with 440 hp. and 550 Nm.

In all cases, an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are used.

Sales of the updated Cayenne in the European Union will start within a few weeks.
