Porsche has announced the addition of the Turbo GT to its Cayenne lineup. According to the manufacturer, this is the fastest crossover in the world.
The novelty is based on the Cayenne Coupe. For the GT, the chassis was reconfigured, the stiffness of the air suspension dampers was increased by 15% and the Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control system was finalized, designed to reduce roll.
The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol is fired up to 640 hp. power and 850 Nm of torque (+90 hp and +80 relative to Coupe Turbo). The engine design uses new pistons and connecting rods, and the crankshaft received a different torsional vibration damper. The software was rewritten for the eight-speed “automatic” - it takes less time to shift gears with it. Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires were made especially for the car in 22-inch dimension.
All these tricks help the Cayenne Turbo GT accelerate from standstill to “hundreds” in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. But more importantly, the German SUV can prove its superiority not only on paper, but also in practice. On June 14, he completed the Nürburgring in 7:38.925. About the same result is shown by the BMW M5 and Nissan GT-R, which have never been crossovers. Previously, the best indicator among the "rogues" had the Audi RS Q8 - 7:42.250.
The Cayenne Turbo GT is available in an exclusive Arctic Grey. Inside, there was a lot of Alcantara and a new version of the Porsche Communication Management 6.0 multimedia system. The back row is always double.
Germany is already accepting orders. The base price is €196,078. The cars will reach dealers in September.
