Porsche 911 got a "budget" turbo version

Porsche

The line of modifications of the 992 generation Porsche 911 was supplemented by the Turbo version, which can be described as a cheaper version of the Turbo S - the engine power was reduced, simplified brakes were installed, and the exterior was slightly changed.

The main difference between the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Turbo S lies in the engine: the 3.8-liter turbocharged flat-six lost 70 hp. and now produces 580 hp. It works with an 8-speed PDK robotic transmission. However, this power is enough to accelerate the car to 100 km / h in 2.8 seconds versus 2.7 for the Turbo S version. The maximum speed is 320 km / h versus 330 km / h for a more powerful modification.

As power has gone down, the brakes have also been simplified. In Turbo S they are expensive - carbon-ceramic, in the Turbo version they are much more affordable - cast iron. The diameter of the discs is 408 mm at the front and 380 mm at the rear. However, the option to order racing brakes is still there.

The advanced all-wheel drive system, the adaptive PASM suspension, which allows you to adjust the ground clearance within 10 mm, and the Sport Chrono package remained unchanged relative to the Turbo S.

From the point of view of the exterior, the cars differ minimally: the Turbo version has a simplified front splitter compared to the Turbo S, and the graphics of the headlights have also been changed. At the back, there are more differences: the Turbo has a different bumper, twin exhaust pipes instead of single ones, reflectors of a different shape.

In the US market, prices for the 911 Turbo start at $170,800 for the coupe and $183,600 for the convertible. The 911 Turbo S starts at $203,500.
