Fraudulent software found on diesel Porsche Cayenne

Porsche

The German Ministry of Transport announced the discovery of fraudulent software on Porsche Cayenne SUVs with a 3.0-liter diesel engine.

This software is similar to that used on diesel Volkswagens - during tests on the stand, the so-called engine warm-up mode is activated, in which the exhaust gas levels are significantly lower than when the engine is running in real traffic conditions.

Porsche must now recall 22,000 vehicles across Europe to repair shops, of which 7,500 are in Germany. Porsche must bear 100% of the cost of the recall.

“We don’t know how many cars are still with sellers and are in the process of production,” German Transport Minister Alexander Dobrindt was quoted as saying by Deutsche Welle.

Before the design was corrected, the Ministry of Transport of Germany imposed a ban on the registration of new Porsche Cayenne with 3.0-liter diesel engines.

Recall that the Volkswagen concern in the fall of 2015 was at the center of a giant diesel scandal and was forced to recall about 11 million cars around the world on which software was installed that reduces the level of exhaust emissions during standard tests. Recently, several automakers in various countries have been suspected of using such software at once.
