The Stellantis concern introduced the Peugeot 308 SW station wagon of the new, third generation. Recall that the five-door hatchback, basic for the family, was presented in March.

"Shed" is noticeably larger than the hatch. The wheelbase has been increased by 55 mm to 2732 mm. Plus, the rear overhang was immediately increased by 210 mm, the total length of the car is 4636 mm. Thanks to this, the volume of the trunk has increased relative to the hatchback from 412 to 608 liters (under the curtain). The back of the rear sofa is divided into three parts in a ratio of 40:20:40, if you fold it, you get 1634 liters of available space. The length of the cargo compartment in this state is 1.85 meters.

The overall length of the 308 SW has increased by 60 mm relative to its predecessor, and the height has decreased by 20 mm.

The station wagon, like the hatch, is built on the third generation of the EMP2 platform. Already in the basic version, fully LED optics are provided, and in the GT and GT Premium trim levels, Peugeot Matrix LED headlights are provided. This matrix optics is able to adjust the shape of the light beam to the current traffic situation, including the presence of other vehicles.

Inside, there is an i-Cockpit digital instrument panel sticking out above the steering wheel. In the GT version, the toolbar has a 3D effect. In the center is a 10-inch media system screen. The automatic transmission selector is made in the form of a miniature joystick.

There are no technical differences from the hatchback. For the Peugeot 308 SW, a 1.2-liter petrol turbo engine (110 or 130 hp) and a 1.5-liter diesel (130 hp) will be available. Transmissions - "mechanics" or eight-speed "automatic". Also, two hybrid versions with support for charging from a wall outlet will immediately enter the market. The base model is the Hybrid 180 e-EAT8 with a 150-horsepower internal combustion engine, the older one with 180-horsepower. The power of the electric motor in both cases is 110 hp, the total output is 180 or 225 hp. The battery with a capacity of 12.4 kWh provides a range of 60 km on the WLTP cycle.

The station wagon will be assembled at the Stellantis plant in the French city of Mulhouse - side by side with the original hatchback. And if the hatch is gradually entering European markets, then the station wagon will appear at the end of 2021 - the beginning of 2022.
