Journalists from the Spanish edition of KM77 tested the ability of a restyled version of the second-generation Peugeot 3008 compact crossover to pass the “elk test”, which simulates a driver’s attempt to dodge an animal that has run onto the road, such as an elk, by active maneuvering. In April 2017, a pre-reform SUV was subjected to an identical study, and as it turned out, the updated model in this aspect shows less impressive results.

Peugeot 2021 model year was able to pass the test at a speed of 73 km / h, without hitting a single cone when maneuvering, a 181-horsepower 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine is installed under the hood of the car, tires are Michelin Primacy 3 with a dimension of 205/55 R19.

The pre-reform 3008 passed the same test at a speed of 77 km / h, while it was equipped with a less powerful 120-horsepower turbodiesel engine. But then the tires were, though of the same model, but of a different dimension - 225/55 R18. Probably, the less wide tires 205 / 55R19 became the reason for the less impressive performance of the restyled crossover. Interestingly, when maneuvering, one of the two rear wheels of the 3008 soared into the air, but if the pre-reform version had the ECS stabilization system at that moment, then the car of the 2021 model year
