Opel showed the crossover Grandland X on the French platform

Opel

Opel introduced the new Grandland X crossover, and this happened not at the Shanghai Motor Show, but at a separate event in Europe.

The car is built on the platform of the PSA Peugeot Citroen concern. This decision was made even before the French bought Opel.

Opel already has an SUV based on the same architecture - that car is called the Crossland X and its closest "relative" is the Peugeot 2008. In the case of the Grandland X, the most obvious equivalent in the Peugeot lineup would be the 3008, the winner of the European Car of the Year title.

Overall dimensions of Grandland X are 4477 mm long, 1844 mm wide and 1636 mm high. The wheelbase is 2675 mm. The new crossover turned out to be about 200 mm longer than the “younger” Crossland X. Trunk volume is 1652 liters.

There is no information about power plants yet. It is known that there will be no all-wheel drive. The maximum that you can count on is the Grip Control electronic assistant, which helps to more efficiently distribute traction between the wheels of the drive axle on off-road.

In addition, the list of electronics includes modern active safety systems: emergency automatic braking, parking assistant, driver fatigue monitoring and adaptive cruise control with pedestrian recognition.
