Opel is preparing for the revival of the rear-wheel drive coupe Monza

Opel plans to revive the Monza premium coupe, which was produced in 1978-1986 on the basis of "senior" sedans, and is preparing a concept on this theme for the Frankfurt show. The main feature of the car will be rear-wheel drive, which will distinguish it from all other "relatives".

“The car will be a two-seater and will receive a shortened Cadillac ATS platform,” Opel CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann told German journalists.

According to him, under the hood of the Opel Monza there will be a wide range of engines, several 2.0-liter four-cylinders and a 3.6-liter six-cylinder. The latter will become the top one, its power will be 325 hp. All engines will be available with automatic and manual transmissions.

Information about the design of the future car has not yet been officially disclosed, but the German publication Auto Bild is already publishing an image of the front of the car.
