Opel has released information about the sports version of the Adam compact hatchback. The premiere of the car, which received the letter S in the title, will take place at the Paris Motor Show on October 2.
The hatchback was prepared by the Opel OPC sports division. Visually, the new version of Adam differs from the base one in the presence of an aerodynamic body kit, sports suspension and several new color schemes.
Under the hood of the front-wheel drive hatchback is a 1.4-liter 150-horsepower gasoline engine that develops 220 Nm of thrust. The motor is paired with a six-speed "mechanics". Thanks to this configuration, Adam S is able to accelerate to the first "hundred" in 8.5 seconds. The maximum speed is 220 km/h.
Due to the increased power (in the basic version, Adam is not equipped with engines more powerful than 115 hp), the hatchback needed enhanced brakes. The novelty will also receive 17-inch wheels in the "base" and 18-inch as an option.
The Adam S will go on sale in November. European prices for the car will be known during the premiere in Paris.
