Opel Insignia updated and got advanced headlights

Opel

In Europe, introduced the updated family of Opel Insignia. The current, second generation was released in 2016, now it has received a slightly modified appearance and several technical updates.

The most noticeable metamorphosis is the new headlights. The front bumper and grille have also changed. At the back, the novelty can be identified only by a different form of exhaust pipes.

Optional IntelliLux LED Pixel Light matrix headlights have become available for the Insignia. The number of LEDs in them has been increased from 16 to 84. The new head optics are able to quickly adjust the light beam to road conditions.

Inside, there is wireless charging for smartphones and a new version of the media system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Not a word is said about the power units. This means that the former 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine (140 or 165 hp) and diesel ICEs with a volume of 1.6 (110 or 136 hp) and 2.0 liters (170 hp) were saved.

The Insignia remains one of the company's last models built on General Motors platforms. The next generation of the car will switch to Groupe PSA technology.

By the way, Buick Regal, the American twin brother of Insignia, will not wait for the update: in 2021 it will be removed from sale. Buick will now focus on crossovers, which already account for over 90% of the brand's sales.
