Opel in Frankfurt showed five new models

Opel

With an unexpected number of premieres, Opel, which is part of the PSA group, seems to demonstrate the viability of the brand and its serious intentions. Among the new products are not only an updated model range, but also electric versions of some models.

The new Opel Corsa is presented in a classic version with an internal combustion engine (gasoline or diesel, from 75 to 130 hp), and for the first time as an electric Corsa-e, with a 50 kWh battery, 136 hp. , the charge of which should be enough for 330 km of run. But a simple "electric train" was not enough - the Germans made the first electric rally car for motorsport - Corsa-e Rally. Its feature was reduced weight - the gasoline version does not reach a ton. The car is also equipped with technologies and assistance systems that were previously only available to higher classes, including, for example, a 180-degree panoramic rear-view camera and automatic parking assistant, intelligent cruise control and lane keeping assistant.

Opel Astra updated not so much the appearance (although changes were made to improve aerodynamics and the drag coefficient was 0.26), but the power plants. It is powered by a new generation of engines and a newly developed transmission with which the Opel Astra sets the standard for efficiency and low emissions. 5-door Astra with a 1.2 engine with 130 hp consumes 4.4-4.3 liters per 100 km in combined mode, and CO2 emissions have been reduced by 21% compared to its predecessor

Now Grandland X has become an all-wheel drive hybrid. The Hybrid4 version is powered by a 1.6v 200hp turbocharged petrol engine. and two electric motors that together produce up to 300 hp. The front electric motor is connected to an electrified 8-speed automatic transmission. A second electric motor, inverter and differential are built into the electrically driven rear axle to provide automatic traction to all wheels. The Grandland X Hybrid4 will offer four driving modes - electric, hybrid, all-wheel drive and sport. Preliminary fuel consumption in economy modes is 1.4-1.3 l/100 km with CO2 emissions of 32-29 g/km. The power reserve on electric traction is enough for 59 km.

The fourth generation Opel Zafira Life opens up new horizons and offers three body lengths: S "Small" - 4.60 m, M "Medium" - 4.95 m and L "Large" - 5.30 m. Each of them is designed for nine seats. The luggage compartment volume of the S-version offers up to 3600 liters, and in the "L" it reaches 4900 liters (with the seats folded down). The new van also features an additional two touch-controlled sliding doors that open electrically with foot movement, a comfort feature unique in this market segment. The car from Peugeot got the IntelliGrip electronic traction control system.

I would like to note that neither Peugeot, nor Citroen, nor DS were presented at this motor show. All premieres went only to Opel.
