Honda Motor has unveiled three new EU-spec crossovers at once β the midsize CR-V, the compact ZR-V and the electric e:NY1.
Honda CR-V
The new (sixth) generation CR-V debuted back in July 2022, but then they showed a model for the North American market, later a version for China came out, and now itβs the turn of the European specification.
In the EU, the new CR-V will be offered only in hybrid versions. The system includes a 2.0-liter gasoline engine (works on the Atkinson cycle) and a pair of electric motors. The basic configuration assumes a conventional hybrid operating in parallel, the more expensive version implies an increased capacity battery and the possibility of recharging it from an external network. Power in both cases is 184 hp. Drive forward or full (at the choice of the customer). The plug-in hybrid can travel up to 82 km on pure electric power. The length of the new CR-V in European specification is 4703 mm. Sales will start at the end of the year.
Honda ZR-V
The world premiere of the Honda ZR-V took place a year ago. This crossover is built on a single platform with the 11th generation Civic and has an overall length of 4.59 m. In the version for the Old World, the car will be offered with a hybrid system made up of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine operating on the Atkinson cycle, an e-CVT variator and an electric motor, power - 184 hp, front-wheel drive only. ZR-V sales in the EU will start at the end of 2023.
Honda e:NY1
The e:NY1 is an Old World-adapted e:NS1/e:NP1 electric vehicle that will be produced at DongFeng-Honda and Guangqi-Honda factories in China as of spring 2022.
In terms of bodywork and chassis, the e:NY1/e:NS1/e:NP1 are widely unified with the RV generation Honda Vezel/HR-V/X-RV produced since 2021 (they are offered in petrol and hybrid versions).
The electric crossover is 4.39 m long, 1.79 m wide, 1.56 m high, and has a wheelbase of 2.61 m. In the EU version, it will only be offered with an electric motor output of 150 kW (204 hp) and 310 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h - in 7.6 seconds, top speed - 160 km / h, front-wheel drive. In China, they offer less powerful options (182 hp).
The engine is powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 68.8 kWh, the range on one full charge according to the WLTP test cycle is up to 412 km. The unit can be charged from a station with a power of up to 78 kW, the energy reserve from 10 to 80% can be replenished in 45 minutes. Obviously, e:NY1 in the EU will be delivered ready-made from China, shipments will begin during 2023.
