Honda Motor has unveiled the name of a new budget crossover model being built for sale in developing countries: Elevate.

The world premiere of Elevate will take place in India on June 6, in August the model will go on sale first in this country, and later will be exported to other countries.

This compact crossover will be based on the fifth generation Honda City platform.

At first, the model will be presented only with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a capacity of 121 hp; in the future, perhaps, there will be cars with a hybrid transmission.

Autocar has posted a collage of a supposed image of Honda's upcoming low-cost crossover, which will have a tall body and short front overhangs.

The first country where Elevate will be produced will be India - the annual circulation will be at least 96 thousand pieces, the price of the novelty will vary in the range of 1.2-1.9 million rupees. In the Indian market, the car promises to become the main competitor of the Korean Hyundai Creta.
