Honda Motor will develop and supply powertrains for Aston Martin's Formula 1 cars.
The parties signed a cooperation agreement - it will begin in 2026, when the next tightening of technical regulations comes into force. In particular, the cars must have three times the power of the electric motor than now, and the 1.6-liter V6 must run exclusively on synthetic fuel. It is expected that the hybrid installation of F1 cars will develop more than 1000 hp. power, not less than 470 hp must fall on the motor-generator MGU-K.
Honda has already announced that Aston Martin's F1 technology will later find application in conventional road vehicles.
It should be recalled here that Honda already has experience of such cooperation behind it - in 2018-2021 it supplied power plants for the cars of the Toro Rosso and Red Bull Racing teams.
