Honda Motor held a full-fledged presentation of a fundamentally new compact crossover ZR-V - it took place in China, for the first time they showed the interior of this car and revealed its characteristics.

Recall that the ZR-V was demonstrated outside in early May - the target market for this car is China, in the same country it will be produced at the facilities of the GAC-Honda joint venture.

The ZR-V body and chassis are unified with the new Honda HR-V in the North American incarnation (by the way, its interior has not yet been revealed, but most likely it will be like that of the “Chinese”). Both cars are based on the 11th generation Honda Civic. Suspensions are completely independent.

In the interior of the ZR-V, elements from the new Civic are widely used - the frame and the lower part of the front panel are common for the two models. Like the “donor”, the central and passenger ventilation deflectors are combined into a single visual element. The instrument panel is digital, with a diagonal of 10.25 inches, the screen of the media system is a tablet type, 9-inch. The steering wheel is also no different from the Civic.

The overall length, width and height of the Honda ZR-V are 4568, 1840 and 1621 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2655 mm.

In China, the car will be equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with 182 hp. and a torque of 240 Nm. It is combined with a CVT and front-wheel drive. A good help on light off-road should be increased ground clearance.

ZR-V should gradually become a global product. It will be offered not only in China and North America (under the name HR-V), but also in the European Union (it is not known under what name). Moreover, for the Old World, it will be equipped with an innovative e:HEV hybrid installation, which can operate in series and parallel circuits, as well as in pure electric vehicle mode.

Honda believes that this model will successfully compete with the Toyota Corolla Cross.
