Honda has assembled the 30 millionth car in the US

Honda

The cumulative production of Honda cars in the United States reached the 30 million milestone - a landmark copy was assembled on January 19, the press service of the Japanese concern said. The American factories of the company are operated by a subsidiary of American Honda Motor.

It is noted that Honda opened the first plant in the United States back in 1959, in California, where motorcycles were assembled. Honda cars began to be offered to Americans from the subcompact N600 model in 1970.

The Japanese company opened the production of cars in the USA only in 1982 - then the production of the first generation Honda Accord began at the newly built plant in Marysville (Ohio). Subsequently, additional auto plants were opened in East Liberty (the same state), as well as in Alabama and Indiana. In addition, Honda has facilities in Canada and Mexico, from which products are also shipped to the United States.

It took Honda 41 years to reach the 30 million milestone in the United States, which means the company produces about 732,000 cars on average in this country.

Three existing plants in Ohio (two automobile and one motor) Honda in the coming years will refocus on the manufacture of electric vehicles and components for them. Investments in the project will amount to $700 million. As part of a joint venture with the Korean LG Energy Solutions, it is planned to open the production of traction lithium-ion batteries.
