Ford Motor introduced the next-generation Transit Courier family of light vans on April 6, which will be offered with petrol, diesel and all-electric powertrains. In the latter case, the prefix in the form of the letter E is used in the name.
Oddly enough, the novelty was not created as part of a partnership between Ford and Volkswagen - the American concern developed it on its own.
The overall length, width and height of the Ford Transit Courier are 4.34 m, 1.79 m and 1.83 m respectively, the wheelbase is 2.69 m. Relative to the previous generation Transit Courier, the dimensions change respectively: +18 cm, +3 cm , +8 cm, +20 cm.
The internal dimensions of the cargo compartment: length - 1.8 m, width - 1.22 m, height - 1.25 m. That is, an increase relative to the previous generation model - +18 cm, +21 cm and +0.9 cm, respectively.
The useful volume of the cargo compartment is 2.9 cubic meters. m, it used to be 2.3 m. In the basic configuration with an internal combustion engine, the car can carry up to 678 kg, but with the option of a reinforced structure, the characteristic increases to 845 kg. Petrol options can also tow up to 1000 kg, diesel options up to 1100 kg. The pure electric e-Transit Courier is capable of carrying up to 700 kg. For comparison, the old Transit Courier with ICE could be loaded with no more than 582 kilograms.
The novelty has five modifications:
turbodiesel 1.5, 100 hp, 6-speed manual gearbox,
petrol turbo 1.0, 100 hp, 6-speed manual gearbox,
petrol turbo 1.0, 125 hp, 6-speed manual gearbox,
petrol turbo 1.0, 125 hp, 7-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches,
electrical installation, 100 kW (136 hp).
The power reserve of the electric car is not specified, but it is specified that its battery can be recharged at a fast station with a capacity of up to 100 kW, with its help the energy reserve sufficient for a run of 87 km can be replenished in just 10 minutes.
The drive of the car in all cases is front.
