Ford showed the replacement Mondeo

Ford

At the end of March 2021, the news was widely circulated that Ford Motor would abandon the Mondeo model and generally remove traditional mid-size cars from its range due to a drop in demand for them, but there will still be a replacement for the Mondeo family: Ford introduced it at the Shanghai International Auto Show is a mid-size Evos crossover.

The novelty was created by the new engineering center of the Changan-Ford joint venture, which employs an international team of specialists, but mostly, of course, the Chinese.

The Ford Evos is a sporty crossover that is reminiscent of Ford's latest Mustang Mach-E electric car with its dynamic profile and core styling cues. In the exterior, attention is drawn to the complex “sculptural” plastic of body panels, two-tier headlights (dipped and main beam units in the bumper, and turns and dimensions above them), a graphically highlighted roof and retractable door handles (like Tesla).

Inside, there is a one-piece screen that combines the instrument cluster and the media system, it has a record width of 1.1 meters. Media system software - Ford SYNC 2.0 with the ability to download updates "over the air".

Ford Evos is equipped with a plug-in hybrid. Specifications have not yet been disclosed, but it is noted that on one tank of gasoline the car can travel up to 1000 km, the average fuel consumption is only 1.2 l / 100 km.

Production of Evos in China will start within a few months. Later, the car can enter the markets of the European Union and North America.
