Volvo XC40 pushes brand sales to record highs

Volvo

It seems that the leaders of Volvo Cars can be proud of themselves: last year, the Swedish brand reached new heights, selling a record number of cars, as Lex Kerssemakers, head of the European office of the brand, told the press.

According to him, last year Volvo Cars set a personal record for itself: 642,253 cars of the brand were sold worldwide, and the Swedes crossed the barrier of more than 600,000 cars for the first time in their history, and this is what Volvo's top management has dreamed of for 15 years. recent years, - said the head of the European division of the brand.

The XC60 mid-size crossover remains the most popular model, with 189,459 copies sold worldwide. The second place was taken by the XC90 large crossover with 94,182 cars sold.

However, the new compact crossover XC40 provided the record with an additional increase in sales. It entered the European market in large quantities a year ago, and this year the Swedes are going to sell at least 150,000 copies of this model - twice as much as last year. It is worth noting that the XC40 won many awards in 2018, the most important being World car of the year 2018 and Car of the year Japan 2018/2019.

Volvo Cars' next goal is 800,000 cars sold per year, but the brand's management has not yet guessed when this milestone will be overcome.
