Volvo has announced an electric crossover

Swedish Volvo Cars announced the release of the new EX90 electric crossover by posting promo photos and videos of some of the car's exterior details.

Volvo EX90 is a mid-size seven-seat crossover with an electromechanical transmission. One of its features will be an unusually low oncoming airflow resistance for a car of this size, which promises a benefit to the owner in terms of economy, especially if you have to travel frequently on the highway. The high streamlining of the car will be facilitated by such solutions as external door handles on servo drives, hiding in the bowels of the doors in an inactive position, specially configured rims that reduce airflow turbulence, and a convex front part without cavities.

Another highlight of the Volvo EX90 will be the high level of equipment for collecting information about the environment, namely five radars, eight video cameras, sixteen ultrasonic sensors and one lidar.

The location of the lidar will be another Volvo EX90 know-how. Placed at the highest possible height - above the top edge of the windshield, while the industry has established a tradition of installing it in the contour of the radiator grille, it will demonstrate much greater efficiency, for example, it will be able to recognize a pedestrian at a distance of 250 m. And of course, high equipment of sensors , detectors and cameras - a reserve for the highest degree of control automation.

A full presentation of the Volvo EX90 will take place in a week and a half.
