Swedish Volvo Cars held in Stockholm the world premiere of a fundamentally new model - a full-size electric crossover EX90.
The overall length of the EX90 is 5.04 m, that is, it is 9 cm longer than the traditional equipped XC90 internal combustion engine. The electric crossover is designed to complement the range of Volvo, they do not intend to remove the XC90 from the assembly line.
The new electric car was created from scratch on the Volvo-Geely SPA platform, this car has no common parts with the XC90.
The width of the novelty, taking into account the exterior mirrors, is 2.11 m, the height is 1.74 m, the wheelbase is 2.99 m.
There are seven seats in the cabin, arranged in three rows according to the 2 + 3 + 2 scheme.
Already in the basic configuration, the EX90 has two electric motors and all-wheel drive. The total power in the standard version is 408 hp, torque is 770 Nm. From standstill to 100 km / h, this car accelerates in 5.9 seconds.
An even more powerful version is also provided - 517 hp. and 910 Nm. She "hundred" is given in 4.9 seconds.
In both cases, the maximum speed is limited to 180 km / h, and the motors are powered by a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 111 kWh, which should be enough for a range of 590-600 km. From a station with a capacity of 250 kW, the battery pack can be recharged up to 80% in 30 minutes.
The basic configuration of the crossover includes a semi-autopilot system that works based on data from cameras, radar and lidar. Their field of action is 360 degrees, they "see" obstacles even in the dark.
Production of the EX90 will start in 2023, target markets for this model are the US and China. The novelty will be released in parallel in these two countries.
