Suzuki Motor on March 30 signed a memorandum of understanding with Australian IT firm Applied Electric Vehicles Ltd to develop an electric vehicle platform with an integrated autopilot system.
Initially, Suzuki and Applied EV entered into a basic partnership agreement in 2021, in 2022 the Japanese invested a certain amount in the Australian firm.
It is planned to create an electric vehicle platform “around” the carrier frame from the Suzuki Jimny SUV. The bodies will be wagon type and for various purposes, primarily freight and delivery. What the future robot car will look like can be imagined by the Applied EV Blanc Robot, a self-driving car created by Australians.
Applied EV implements the Digital Highway integrated control system in the project, which is distinguished by its efficiency and lower cost compared to existing analogues.
