Suzuki upgraded Jimny for the Japanese market

Suzuki

Suzuki Motor began selling a slightly improved version of the Jimny/Jimny Sierra frame SUV in the domestic Japanese market.

On cars with a manual transmission, a start-stop system has been added that automatically turns off the engine during short stops, and then restarts it. The introduction of this system has reduced fuel consumption by about 2.5%. In the interior of the car, as part of the update, the layout of some buttons and switches was re-arranged, thereby improving ergonomics. In addition, all Jimny's for the domestic Japanese market are equipped with a function to prevent the confusion of the gas and brake pedals.

Suzuki Jimny of the current, fourth generation was released in the summer of 2018. Let us briefly recall: the model is built on a new frame chassis and is offered in two gasoline versions - with an R06 turbo engine (0.66 l, 64 hp) and an aspirated K15B (1.5 l, 102 hp). Both engines are combined with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-band "automatic". The drive is connected full. The larger engine model is traditionally called the Jimny Sierra in Japan.

The updated Suzuki Jimny costs from 1,555,400 yen, Jimny Sierra - from 1,863,400 yen.
