The Japan Automotive Experts and Journalists' Conference (RJC) has chosen Car of the Year 2017. They became the Suzuki Swift hatchback.
This time, the RJC Car of the Year award will be awarded for the 27th time. It is noteworthy that in RJC Swift was recognized as the best for the third time - before this title went to the hatch in 2005 and 2010.
The RJC jury explained its decision by the fact that the Swift line includes various versions, including sports and hybrid ones - the car meets the needs of various categories of customers. The hot hatch Swift Sport was praised for its dynamics and agility, while the hybrid Swift was praised for its successful AGS robotic transmission.
Note that Suzuki has repeatedly earned the attention of RJC. In addition to winning the Swift in 2005 and 2010, Suzuki Wagon R (1993), Wagon R/Wagon R Stingray (2008), Hustler (2014) and Alto (2015) gave the award.
