Inexpensive crossover Suzuki XL6 subjected to modernization

Suzuki Motor has unveiled an updated version of the inexpensive six-seater XL6 crossover. Recall that this model has been produced since 2019, it is a modification of the Ertiga van, which has been upgraded in mid-April, and prepared for light off-road use.

Like the original model, the XL6 received a new 1.5-liter K15C DualJet petrol engine. It differs from the previous K15B in a modernized power system - two nozzles are used for each cylinder. At the same time, the engine is equipped with a start-stop system that automatically turns off and on the ignition during short stops - and reduces gasoline consumption.

The power of the K15C DualJet is 103 hp, the torque is 136.8 Nm, relative to the K15B, the first indicator fell by 2 hp, the second - by 1.2 Nm. In the basic configuration, the engine is aggregated with the previous five-speed manual gearbox, but the automatic transmission offered for a surcharge is no longer four, but six-speed.

The bi-fuel version of the new engine, which consumes both gasoline and compressed natural gas, was decided not to be offered on the XL6 - we recall that the restyled Ertiga has such a version.

The external features of the new cross-van compared to the previous one are a three-dimensional grille pattern and 16-inch wheels of a different design. In the top configuration, the car has four airbags, all-round cameras, a media complex with a 7-inch screen and the ability to control voice functions. In addition, the list of positions includes ventilation of the front seats, climate control, full LED headlights, ABS, ESP, tire pressure monitoring.

The external differences between the XL6 and Ertiga are still the body kit made of unpainted plastic and the completely original design of the front end. The length of the cross-van is 4445 mm, the interior layout is 2+2+2.

Crossover production is carried out side by side with Ertiga at factories in India and Indonesia.

The facelifted XL6 in India starts at Rs 1,129,000.
