Skoda Auto has added a new inexpensive model to its range - Slavia. The car with a sedan body was presented on November 18 in India, since it is this country that will receive the novelty first, moreover, its production is being established here.

Slavia was created on the MQB-A0 platform in a simplified specification. In terms of the body frame and most of the external panels, the car is unified with the Volkswagen Virtus sedan, which has been produced in Brazil for Latin America since 2018.

The length, width and height of Slavia are 4541, 1752 and 1487 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2651 mm. That is, in terms of size, the car is comparable to the Skoda Octavia Typ 1Z of the 2004 model.

Skoda's own relative to Virtus are the design of the front and rear parts of the body - they are made in the latest iteration of the corporate identity of the Czech brand. Attention is drawn to the large angular grille with vertical slats, narrowed headlights and lanterns.

In the cabin, you can see a wide detailed and element-by-element unification with the latest generation Fabia.

The vehicle is equipped with LED headlights and lights, a digital instrument panel, a media complex with a 10-inch screen, ambient lighting, leather seat trim, and ventilation of the front seats.

The trunk volume of the Slavia is 521 liters, it can be increased to 1050 liters if the rear sofa is folded down.

In India, the novelty will begin to offer in late 2021 - early 2022. The engine range of the car will consist of 1.0 and 1.5 liter petrol turbo units. The first develops 115 hp. power and 175 Nm of torque, it is aggregated with a 6-speed "mechanics" or "automatic". The second motor produces 150 hp. and 250 Nm, combined with a 7-speed DSG preselective “robot”.
