The Czech Skoda Auto has published the first sketches of the promising subcompact crossover Kushaq. Thanks to this, it is partially possible to evaluate the appearance of a machine created for developing countries, primarily India.
Judging by the sketches, in the exterior, the novelty will largely borrow the design from the Vision IN show car presented in 2020: the general shape of the body, a chrome-plated radiator grille with vertical lamellas, two-story head LED optics, lining under the bumpers with three cutouts, roof rails, rear lanterns.
The car is created on the MQB-A0 platform in a modification adapted for bad roads, its length is about 4200 mm, the wheelbase is 2671 mm. Under the hood of the Sash there will be turbocharged engines of the TSI series with a volume of 1.0 and 1.5 liters (they will be borrowed from another crossover - Kamiq), their power will be 110 and 150 hp. respectively. The first motor will work with a six-speed "mechanics" and a classic "automatic", the second - with a manual gearbox and a seven-speed "robot". Front drive. According to the body frame and door panels, the Sash will be unified with the Volkswagen T-Cross (produced since 2019).
In the interior, the crossover will stand out with chrome inserts made of polished aluminum, as well as a media system with a 12.3-inch screen.
Skoda Kushaq will acquire a wide range of (by local standards) basic equipment in the Indian market: air conditioning, cruise control, hill start assist systems, light and rain sensors.
The premiere of the model will take place on March 18. The cost of the crossover will be announced later, its production will take place at a plant in the industrial area of Shendra, in the city of Aurangabad.
