Skoda abandoned the Fabia station wagon

Skoda

Skoda Fabia of the new, fourth generation will be produced only in the body of the “five-door hatchback”, in which it was introduced in May 2021. In other words, a cargo-passenger station wagon in the range of this model is not planned, such information, citing official representatives of Skoda Auto, was distributed by Autocar. Recall that in the line of the previous three generations, the Fabia station wagon was present, marked with the Combi prefix in the title.

The reason for abandoning the station wagon is that Skoda Auto must prepare for the next tightening of emission standards in the European Union in 2025 (Euro-7 requirements). The company is saving on the station wagon to invest in the development and production of three new electric vehicle models.

Earlier, the European Commission decided to reduce the total volume of emissions from cars by 55% by 2030.

With the departure of the third generation Skoda Fabia Combi at the end of 2021, the range of B-class station wagons in the European Union will become very scarce - it will narrow down to the Dacia Jogger.

Note that the fourth-generation Skoda Fabia hatchback is larger than its predecessor. The length and width are 4108 and 1780 mm, respectively. The wheelbase has increased to 2564 mm, that is, an increase of 94 mm. Salon has become the most spacious in the class. The range of Fabia engines includes 1.0 and 1.5 liter petrol turbo units, as well as a 1.0 liter naturally aspirated petrol. The power of the first engine is 108 hp, the second - 148 hp, the third - 64 hp.
