Nissan Motor will remove the Rogue Sport compact crossover from its North American product range at the end of 2022.
According to Automotive News, citing sources in the company, there will be no replacement for the Rogue Sport - dealers have already been notified that the crossover is being discontinued in December.
The Rogue Sport has been on sale in the US and Canada since 2017, delivered from the Nissan plant in Fukuoka, Japan. It is specified that the production of spare parts for the J11 will remain until 2033.
Nissan believes that a replacement for the Qashqai is not needed in North America, since its audience on that continent can be divided between the Rogue (X-Trail) and the subcompact Kicks.
The management of the Japanese company concluded that the promotion of Qashqai in North America turned out to be a bad experience - in this market, the model diverted resources and at the same time almost did not bring profit.
In the EU, the Qashqai J11 has not been sold since 2021, as it has been replaced with a completely new generation J12 model - it is slightly larger in size and is equipped with high-performance 1.3 and 1.5 petrol turbo engines, as well as a “series hybrid” installation.
