Nissan Motor has restyled the Altima L34 midsize sedan to North American specification. It has been produced since 2018, this is the first modernization in four years, it is designed to support the demand for the model.

The easiest way to recognize the updated car is by the bow. The front bumper has been replaced - it has a more concise shape than the previous one. The radiator grille is enlarged in area, the V-shaped chrome edging was removed from it. The LED headlights remained the same, but the inside of the body was black (it was mirrored). Branded light alloy wheels of 17 or 19 inches, depending on the configuration, changed their design, new shades of Gray Sky Pearl (metallic gray) and Garnett Pearl Metallic (metallic red) were added to the body color palette. In the rear bumper, the diffuser imitation has become more expressive.

In the cabin, in expensive trim levels, instead of an 8.0-inch multimedia display, a 12.3-inch one is installed. The system supports synchronization with a smartphone via Apple Carplay and can work to distribute Wi-Fi internet. Wireless charging of smartphones has also been introduced.

The basic package of Altima included the Safety Shield 360 preventive safety complex, which includes automatic emergency braking, lane control, blind spot monitoring, and automatic high beam control.

The modernization did not affect the technical side of the car. Altima will continue to be equipped with 2.0 and 2.5 liter petrol engines. The first is turbocharged and has a system for automatically changing the compression ratio, it produces up to 248 hp. power. The second is atmospheric, 188 hp. in combination with front-wheel drive or 182 hp with complete. Regardless of the engine, Altima is equipped with a stepless variator. The North American version of the model is produced at Nissan's plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.

It should be added here that in the coming weeks, the Japanese automaker will also present a restyled version of Altima for China. This is the same L34 sedan, but produced in China and adapted to the local market. A photo of the updated car for the Celestial Empire got into free access ahead of time - through the database of the Ministry of Industry of the PRC. The Chinese are preparing a deeper restyling - their own front bumper, modified block headlights, as well as new shape and graphics are expected. The Chinese Altima will continue to be equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine with 243 hp. It is combined with a CVT and front-wheel drive.
