From the new Nissan Z made safety car for circuit racing

Nissan Motorsports & Customization (NMC) - Nissan's sports division - has unveiled a safety car based on the rear-wheel drive Nissan Z coupe of the new generation. This special vehicle will be used in the international Super GT circuit championship held by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF).

The Safety car differs fr om the standard coupe by flashing lights on the roof and inside the grille, Recaro seats, special communications equipment in the cabin, and stickers on the body.

The car is used for special duties - it will carry out a pre-launch inspection of the track and drive a column of fireballs in the event of an accident. The new safety car will be used for the first time on May 29 at the Suzuka Circuit in Mie Prefecture, wh ere the third round of the 2022 season will be held.

Note that among the Super GT participants there is a Nissan Z - this is a GT 500 car, which was built at the end of 2021 to replace the GT-R.

The new Nissan Z in the production version is equipped with a 3.0-liter V6 petrol with a capacity of 405 hp. and a torque of 475 Nm. It is aggregated with a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 9-band "automatic". Sales of the new Z in Japan and the US will start in the summer of 2022.
