Mercedes-Benz G-Class put on tracks

Mercedes-Benz

The Mercedes-Benz G-Class frame SUV was converted to a crawler, this was not done by Mercedes-Benz itself, but by the independent Swiss company Delta 4x4. To install four tracks, the ground clearance of the car had to be increased by 20 cm - up to 441 cm, in addition, wider arch linings and an original front bumper were installed.

The machine is now ideal for moving through the mountains in the snowiest season. At normal times, you can carry out reverse work - and return the wheels instead of the tracks.

The cost of tuning is prohibitive: suspension modification - 19 thousand euros, purchase and installation of tracks - 50 thousand euros. Another 20 thousand euros is a roof rack, a modified bumper and an additional set of wheels. Separate considerable funds will be required to legalize such a design on a specific instance.

The first sample of the tracked Mercedes-Benz G-Class was made on the basis of the G500; in Germany, a standard SUV of this model costs from 130,000 euros.

The Delta 4x4 portfolio also includes other unusual works, such as the Suzuki Jimny with portal axles and the Rolls-Royce Cullinan prepared for extreme off-road use.
