In the domestic market of Japan on November 18, sales of the mid-size crossover Lexus RX of the new (fifth) generation started. The world premiere of this model took place in the early summer of 2022.
In the next incarnation, the RX is built on a modified version of the TNGA GA-K modular platform and has a body designed from scratch. Especially for the crossover, they created a new multi-link rear suspension with particularly strong attachments to the subframe.
The overall length, width and height of the Lexus RX AL30 are 4890, 1920 and 1695 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2850 mm.
The novelty is offered to the Japanese in three motor modifications - RX500h, RX450h + and RX350.
The RX350 is equipped with a 2.4-liter T24A-FTS petrol turbo with 275 hp. and a torque of 430 Nm. It is combined with an 8-speed "automatic", front or all-wheel drive.
The RX500h is a Direct4 parallel hybrid with a 2.4-liter T24A-FTS petrol engine, 6-speed automatic transmission and a separate electric motor on the rear axle. Total characteristics - 372 hp and 550 Nm, all-wheel drive. This version is only available with the F Sport Performance package, which includes an original body kit and special chassis settings. Direct4 automatically distributes torque between the front and rear axles in a ratio of 100:0 to 20:80. "500" combines the dynamics of a sports car (acceleration from standstill to 100 km / h in 6 seconds) and fuel consumption at the level of a family sedan (9.0 l / 100 km).
The RX450h+ is a parallel hybrid with the ability to recharge the battery from an external network. The installation includes a 2.5-liter A25A-FXS gasoline engine, an eCVT variator, a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 18.1 kWh, as well as two electric motors - on the front axle (180 hp) and on the rear ( 54 HP). The internal combustion engine develops 182 hp, the total system output is 304 hp. The machine is equipped with the E-Four all-wheel drive function, it allows you to distribute torque between the axles in a ratio from 100:0 to 20:80. Four drive modes are available: 1) conventional HV hybrid, 2) plug-in hybrid, 3) pure electric EV, 4) automatic EV mode.
Prices for the new RX in Japan range from 6,640,000 to 9,000,000 yen depending on the configuration.
