A model with the LFR index will appear in the Lexus range

Lexus

Toyota Motor has applied for a name for the upcoming Lexus supercar. Documents for the LFR index and the Lexus LFR name have been issued, information about this is contained in a fresh download from the EU Intellectual Property Office. The names have not yet been issued for the Japanese concern - a multi-month check for uniqueness is ahead.

Note that LFR is consonant with the LFA index, which was used for the small-scale mid-engined Lexus supercar produced in 2011-2013.

The English-language edition of Motor1 suggests that the LFR index can be assigned to models based on the Electrified Sport concept car, presented in December 2021. Earlier it was known about Toyota's plans to release a mass-produced electric supercar under the Lexus brand. It is claimed that the car will be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in 2 seconds and drive up to 700 km on one full battery charge. In addition, a "manual transmission imitation" may appear - the driver will have to change gears in order to increase the performance of the engines.
