Haval has launched a new crossover called the H-Dog on the domestic Chinese market. Edition Autohome published a photo of a commodity car in the parking lot of one of the dealers.
H-Dog is the third serial product in the Haval dog family. The first two are Dagou (“Big Dog”) produced since 2020 and Kugou (“Cool Dog”) produced since 2022. Distinctive features of the “dogs” from Haval are the brutal exterior and the readiness of the chassis for relatively difficult off-road conditions.
The characteristic style features of the family in the H-Dog have been developed and made even more expressive - there is a pronounced horizontal hood, angular wheel arches, broken stampings on the sidewalls, and a vertical slope of the front (when viewed in profile).
The new model belongs to the category of mid-size, its length, width and height are 4705, 1908 and 1780 mm, respectively, the wheelbase is 2810 mm. Ground clearance - 200 mm, approach angle - 24 degrees, exit - 30 degrees, fording depth - 560 mm.
The car is frameless, the H-Dog is based on the LEMON platform with a transverse engine and main front-wheel drive.
Two motor versions are planned. The base configuration includes a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine, a step up - a "rechargeable hybrid" system, it consists of a 1.5-liter petrol turbo and an electric motor. The 2.0-liter unit develops a power of 238 hp, the return of the hybrid installation is 326 hp. (can operate in parallel or sequential mode, the power reserve on pure electric traction is 50-150 km). Drive - front or full.
