Chinese Foton shamelessly copied the Ford F-150 Raptor

In recent years, Chinese manufacturers have begun to move away from the practice of mindlessly copying famous brand cars. But some brands are still unable to abandon tracing paper and drawing board in an attempt to adopt the design. Now Foton has copied the Ford F-150 Raptor and named its model Da Jiang Jun, which translates to "Big General".

The presentation of the "General" will take place on September 26, but the first photos have already been published. The Chinese novelty almost exactly copies the powerful American pickup truck. At a cursory glance, you can not even notice the catch.

But small differences still exist. For the sake of simplifying the shape of the headlights, they lost a small notch on the side of the grille. Also on the side there is no signature Ford glazing step on the front door. And here the wheel arches are made more square.

According to the Ford Authority, the new Foton will be closer in size to the Ford Ranger than the F-150 Raptor.

It is also not necessary to expect a filling comparable to the original. Instead of a 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, the car will receive 2.0-liter "turbo-fours": one petrol, one diesel. Perhaps there will be a 2.5-liter internal combustion engine running on “heavy” fuel. While the exact characteristics are not disclosed. It is expected that the power of the petrol version will be about 238 hp. Foton Da Jiang Jun plans to equip the 8-speed "automatic" ZF.

The prices of the "Big General" are not yet known. Sales in China will begin before the end of 2020.
