“We also have a heart”: the hijackers returned the car after learning about the illness of the hostess

In Italy, thieves returned the car after they learned about the illness of his mistress. They learned about it from social networks: the daughter of the victim posted the relevant information on Facebook.

On January 13, a Fiat Doblo compact van disappeared from the parking lot of a hospital in the town of Bari. It stands out from the background of ordinary cars. Firstly, this car is adapted to be driven by a disabled person, and is also equipped with a ramp and a special chair. Secondly, it is equipped with a higher roof so that a person in a wheelchair can freely drive inside.

Nevertheless, all these factors did not bother the hijackers at all. After it became known about the loss, the daughter of the victim posted an ad on the social network, in which she asked local residents to take a closer look at such cars, especially since they are rare. She noted that she had lost the opportunity to transport her mother, who had been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 1990 and was forced to be in a wheelchair because of this.

The appeal reached not only the local residents, but also the hijackers themselves. They parked the car at a random house, a resident of which noticed a car already famous on the Web and called the carabinieri. In the front seat of the car, they found a note from the criminals.

“We also have a heart, excuse us, we did not know about your illness,” they wrote.

After a happy ending, the family opened a fundraiser to buy a disabled car for a local charity.
