Fiat has introduced the Argo compact hatchback, which is designed specifically for emerging markets in Latin America. The novelty will replace the outdated Punto model in the company's lineup.
The design of the new budget model echoes the European Fiat Tipo. It is noteworthy that the model was immediately presented in the sports version of the HGT, which has original bumpers and rims.
The technical characteristics of the Argo have not yet been disclosed, but it is known that they plan to equip the car with engines of 1.0, 1.3 and 1.8 liters, they will be aggregated with both mechanical and automatic transmissions. The engines are capable of consuming both gasoline and an E85 blend (15% gasoline and 85% ethanol) as fuel.
The list of hatchback equipment will likely include air conditioning, a touch-screen multimedia system, and a Start/Stop system.
In the second half of this year, a hatchback-platform sedan will appear on the South American market.
