Fiat made a four-wheel drive "motorhome" out of a Ducato van

Fiat has prepared an all-wheel drive "motorhome" based on the Ducato commercial van. The premiere of the car will take place at the German exhibition Caravan Salon dedicated to camping vehicles. The event will open on August 29 in the city of Düsseldorf.

The van was taken as a basis in a long-wheelbase modification, equipped with a 2.3-liter in-line four-cylinder diesel engine with a capacity of 150 hp. (350 Nm) and "mechanics". The Fiat Motorhome differs from other versions of the car at first glance - the car received a special two-tone body color and a large number of additional equipment.

Several companies specializing in different areas worked on the Ducato Expedition 4x4 at once. For example, Olmedo equipped the car with a winch, underbody protection and a roof rack that transforms into a 2.7-meter-high viewing platform, Tecnoform experts improved the interior of the van, and Dangel engineers designed an all-wheel drive system. In particular, the car was equipped with an interaxle self-locking differential with a viscous coupling and a limited slip rear differential.

In addition, the van received increased ground clearance, an extended track and off-road tires with a dimension of 275/45 R16. The interior of the car is equipped with a multimedia system, two retractable screens

The manufacturer does not yet plan to launch the Ducato Expedition 4x4 in a series - a demonstration of the car at a thematic exhibition will allow Fiat to study the demand for such a car. Note that the basic version of the Ducato is a popular platform for the construction of "homes on wheels" in Europe.
